Who We Are
A Renal Dialysis Unit was established in 1969 at the Henry County Health Center. A community fund drive to help a local teenage boy who required hemodialysis treatments brought the therapy to the area. From that effort, the renal dialysis unit grew from serving one patient to serving almost 200 patients from Southeast Iowa, Northern Missouri, and Western Illinois.
In response to this growth, Southeastern Renal Dialysis began as a corporation in April of 1997. The corporation consists of Henry County Health Center, Great River Health Systems, Fort Madison Community Hospital, Keoukuk Area Hospital, and Jefferson County Health Center.
